Flavored Tobacco

Smoke pours from sets of chapped lips,
And I feel awkward among them,
Done up like somebody’s secret,
Letting the same curls drift and die on the ceiling.
There’s been a picture like this:
Poet clutching pipe and pillow,
Wanting to be part of a world
Once thought to be mundane,
Now exotic, like the tapestries.
