To My Depression
You are like a commuter train
the way you come and go
carrying voices of people
that I don't know or care to meet
and guilt keeps me on for the ride,
to know a push and pull,
feeling airy as I sway easy to the right,
then a leftward staggering metal-on-screeching metal- JOLT
'til I am centered again,
overwhelmed by how weighty
it all
can be,
always leaving somewhere,
but arriving too.
