what sorrow to know
that in due course
your beautiful form will be likened
to shell crushed under foot,
your bones but a layer of ash
to season stirred earth.

ah but well decided
your blood through veins
to tangle with roots,
your heart shall pump rivers unblessed.

it is your howl
to the whining wind's refrain,
your teeth the polished pebbles
skipped 'cross still waters

(oh how i've mourned your waft in death
and living's first gasp--).

there are heavens,
they are in your knuckles,
the ringlets there
and elsewhere.

you are galaxy,
you are pupilary black hole mania (i'm slipping)--

lay me down in the earth you call home
and i will blossom in your gravity.
