Well the rain won't wash away the broken glass,
so they're pounding on the mayor's door
with fists shaped for change.
They'll meet in clubhouses to talk about
community and the budding scene,
but they're too dull to introduce themselves to neighbors.
I'm not saying I'm afraid of change,
but the last thing that this city needs
is an art space or another cafe
when the schools are shutting down
and all these beer gardens make me feel like I'm drowning.
All the corners are stacked with apartments
a stone's throw away from brunch in a shit bar
with craft beer.
Sure, the neighborhood looks great
and no one can afford it,
but there's two new spots for yoga,
so that makes it okay.
I'm not saying I'm afraid of change,
but the last thing that this city needs
is an art space or another cafe
when the schools are shutting down
and you are fucked if you are poor or you are brown.
They're putting the 'cult' back in culture.
Designer neighborhoods
built to bleed the cities dry of
bricks and charm until it's all
a parking lot
when they move back to New York,
When will they move back to New York?
They're putting the 'cult' back in culture.
Designer neighborhoods
build the bleed the cities dry of
bricks and charm but Whole Foods
isn't so bad.
It's not the product,
it's the means,
the bleeding heart upon your sleeve.
Make a difference with a garden,
We've got dog parks.
Not what we want or
what we need,
jobs for only those degreed,
specialized trade industries
that kitschy shit that reels you in.
It's not the product,
it's the choice.
How you live decides your voice.
We can't go on this way.
We can't go on this way.
