(a chop up from an older pome)
That night in Tennessee
our headlights were the only lights
for miles to see
and we watched the raccoons scatter up the trees
as we neared
in that big open field,
or a yard,
it was too dark to tell.
Felt like infinity
under the hood of stars
that night in Tennessee
and you held me in your arms so tight that
I didn't mind that we were lying on the ground
Our bold and beating hearts were all that made a sound
while we were tangled up without a care for who's around.
The night's not young, neither are we so--
The night's not young, neither are we.
When I looked into your eyes,
swear I've never seen nothin' as bright at home.
When you looked into my eyes,
feel the flash and burn of a celestial scar.
Do you lament the days you spent under just one star?
Tell me have you ever seen so many stars?
