Mountains of myself, they're growing tall around the house.
In climbing them, I'm not much of a man, more like a mouse
looking up the Himalayas, those shiny peaks miles about the clouds,
and dream that I'm a Sherpa while having me a lie down on the couch.
I didn't used to care for what people thought of me,
Oh, Sertraline.
I need more serotonin please.
And I smile nauseously.
When I'm feeling lonesome, I reach for the books on my highest shelf.
And when I claim, "I've not the words...," it's spelt right there in ink just how I felt.
My roots are dug down deeper than I'm willing to see within myself,
and I've been living my life reeling, always taking second chances on my health.
I didn't used to care for what people thought of me,
Oh, Sertraline.
I need more serotonin please.
And I smile nauseously.
Spent 30 years living with anxiety,
but oh there's peace.
One a day, Miss Sertraline.
Smile nauseously til I fall asleep again and again.
There are birthdays I remember for people I wouldn't call again.
And I go making up scenarios for when I played victim instead of friend.
Every time I'm wronged, I plan for a life grown rich from spite.
And oh I long for solitude, but don't know what I'd do if you're gone tonight.
