lion or lamb.

it's march
and perpetually wet.
the poets go on
about all the rain.
they're using it for bathwater.
a dry wind chafes their bare cheeks
and exposed big toes, the post-hitch
thumbs; they're shimmying up
glass globes in absent
metaphor's encapsulated
lament.

the least it could do is snow.
