the new american dream
is constituted on taxable
earned winnings, a lottery,
that is to say,
no longer is this the land of opportunity,

and unattainable numbers.
this is the true cost of living:
pocketed by the same men we entrust
to store our goods, educate our children,
they leave the poor to die in our streets,
and we boycott, and we protest
