pelt.

just a few days rest and the animals come out
bearing their teeth, thirsty,
plucked from the fat of circumstance
and what's out of their control.
hairs stand on end, attack-ready,
stances unpracticed,
taken captive by nature
and it's unyielding call
to relinquish order,
shed our restrictive coats,
and let our bodies take over.
