manly men
to drink with the sunrise
and soak tired hands and feet in gin
who taste of whiskey
and don't smell of cologne
but of attics and cedar,
who's hands craft melodies,
lumber, and steak dinners
who'll take a life, if provoked.
men that think twice,
but always forget
and fumble for breasts
in the amber morning.
men apologizing only when
they mean it,
perverted and lewd,
cautious with a gut.
men that know when enough's enough
who'll depart gracefully
his departure understood
by the woman cleaning the mess
left in his wake.
